Wahoo and Zwift Partner on New “Wahoo Kickr Core Zwift One” Indoor Trainer

In the aftermath of legal battles that spanned the better part of 2023, Wahoo and Zwift have settled their differences and partnered on a new indoor trainer aptly called the Wahoo Kickr Core Zwift One, merging the Zwift Cog single sprocket and virtual shifting with the Kickr Core direct drive system.

“We’re excited to be working with Wahoo on this trainer as it brings a number of new benefits to the customer, including slightly improved power accuracy and Wahoo Kickr Climb compatibility. Working with Wahoo means we are also able to expand the distribution of this product, meaning customers in Australia and Canada will be able to access the benefits of virtual shifting from late March. Pricing has been kept the same as the outgoing Zwift Hub One and also includes a year of Zwift membership. Zwift Hub One will be around for a limited time while stocks last. All warranties on those trainers remain valid for their duration and Zwift is committed to continued firmware updates and support for at least two years February 7th,” says Chris Snook, Zwift’s media director.

The Zwift Cog allows Wahoo and Zwift to offer a turn-key solution that’s ready to ride out of the box. It comes with a handlebar-mounted controller, called the Zwift Click, which provides virtual shifting. The brands say that this allows them to offer silent shifting, 24 virtual gears and compatibility with almost any bike that’s equipped with an 8 to 12-speed groupset.

Additionally, it’s compatible with Wahoo’s other training hardware, including the Kickr Climb and Kickr Headwind, so owners can expand their indoor training environment for a more realistic feel when riding Zwift or other indoor training apps.

However, if riders prefer real shifting using their bike’s shifters to virtual shifting using the Zwift Click controller, Wahoo will continue to offer the Kickr Core with a choice of cassette between 8 and 12 speeds at the same price, which includes a year Zwift subscription. Also, customers can opt for the Zwift Play controllers that mount on either side of the handlebar in order to add virtual shifting, steering and braking to the trainer for $99.

The Wahoo Kickr Core Zwift One sells for $599, which includes one year of Zwift membership.
