Zipp has teamed up with Goodyear on a new Fitment Series of tires, offering two models that are designed around its 353 NSW and 303 SW wheelsets.
Comprising the Eagle F1 R Z29 Aero and the Vector R XPLR, the former is aimed at Zipp’s road wheels, while the latter targets its gravel range. As its name implies, the Eagle F1 R Z29 Aero features a tire width of 29mm, which was developed exclusively around Zipp’s 23mm internal-width TSS rim that’s found on the 404 Firecrest and 454 NSW wheelsets. The tire also has a 180tpi casing and Zipp-specific Aero Lip design for drag-cutting seamlessness from rim to tire.
In the case of the Vector R XPLR, it’s optimized for Zipp’s super-wide 32mm internal width 303 XPLR wheelsets. However, Zipp says the Vector R XPLR is also compatible with its 25mm internal width wheels.
Additionally, the tire has a lightly textured slick that’s based Goodyear’s Vector R, albeit in a 40mm width, along with a supple 120 TPI casing, lightweight R: Shield and M: Wall protection layers, as well as the brand’s Dynamic: UHP compound.
The Eagle F1 R Z29 Aero and Vector R XPLR both sell for $90.00.
