Rapha Partners with Apidura to Offer New Handlebar and Saddle Packs

The rise of off-road adventure cycling no-doubt prompted Rapha to partner with fellow British brand, Apidura, to create their new Handlebar and Saddle bike packs.

The two packs are designed to easily fit on any bike, using a system of adjustable straps and buckles.

Both packs are made using a durable, lightweight, four-layer laminated water resistant material, that also incorporates synthetic rubber along all of the fastening points and roll-top closures.

The packs are finished with Rapha’s distinctive white and pink bands, as used on their Brevet jersey, along with additional reflective material added to the cords and outer webbing.

Additionally, the Saddle Pack has an added bungee cord on the top, along with a rear light attachment point as well.

The Handlebar Pack sells for $130.00 and the Saddle Pack is $160.00.

Lightweight bike touring pack

Looking for adventure but don’t want to carry cumbersome panniers? Or perhaps your bike doesn’t hold a rack? Rapha has partnered with ultra-light rackless packing brand Apidura for this highly functional handlebar pack designed for hassle-free bicycle touring. Easily attached to fit smartly just underneath your handlebars with a strong two-point attachment system, the pack has roll-top closures at either end, protecting your gear in a versatile manner. A bungee cord tie-down feature is included on the outer top, should you need extra storage, and Rapha has woven reflective yarns into all of the outer webbing and shockcords for extra visibility when riding in low light. Resplendent in Rapha’s iconic black, white and pink colour scheme, this handlebar pack, when paired with the Saddlebar Pack, is all you need to hit the road in search of some far-flung adventure.

Please note that, while the body fabric of this pack is waterproof, due to the stitching process used to assemble the product, there is the possibility for water to enter through the seams when exposed to sustained rain. Rapha and Apidura recommend using an internal dry bag for contents that must remain absolutely dry (such as electronics).

A revolutionary touring pack

In making a rackless saddle pack for bike touring, Apidura caused a sensation among randonneurs fed up of using unwieldy panniers. Rapha has partnered with the ultra-light packing brand to present a special version of their extremely successful Compact Saddle Pack which, when paired with the Handlebar Pack, will hold enough gear for any lightweight tours into the wilderness. The highly-functional pack straps on to the rear of the saddle with a three-point attachment, lodging tight without restricting pedalling or swaying around, and a roll-top closing system ensures your equipment is well protected. Rapha has added its distinctive Brevet stripes to the pack, one in reflective white and one in hi-vis pink, while all of the webbing and shockcord have reflective yarns woven in for extra visibility, too. A game-changing piece of kit.
