2015 Recumbent Cycle-Con Trade Show Announced

Since 2011, the Recumbent Cycle-Con has grown to become the largest gathering of the recumbent industry in the US. and the world. 

This year’s show will be held Sept. 25-27, at the Sharonville Convention Center in Cincinnati, featuring manufacturers of recumbent bikes, trikes and tandems from Europe, Asia, Australia, as well as the U.S.

RC-C starts with industry-only hours on Friday, Sept. 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 pm, followed by the annual Recumbent Industry Banquet and Awards Dinner, held at the convention center. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26 and 27, the show is open to both consumers and members of the bicycle industry. Recumbent enthusiasts also have access to demo the newest ‘bents.

A number of seminars and presentations are scheduled for all three days of the show. Presentations are designed for shop owners and employees, as well as anyone interested in the many aspects of recumbent cycling.

The Schedule

*Friday, September 25, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Friday is an Industry Only Day, giving manufacturers of recumbent bikes, trikes and tandems, and cycling accessories the opportunity to reach out and connect with bicycle dealers from around the country. Industry attendees can also attend workshops and product demonstrations, test-ride bikes on the Demo Track Arenas and enjoy time with other members of the industry. Friday will conclude with the 2015 Recumbent Industry Dinner, at the Convention Center.

Sunday, September 27
10:00 am – 4:00 pm

On Saturday and Sunday, the show opens to industry members as well as recumbent enthusiasts, who will revel in the ability to see all the newest in recumbent bikes, trikes, tandems, gear and equipment, meet with factory staff and representatives from the major recumbent builders and accessory suppliers, and ride all the latest recumbent bikes and trikes on our Outdoor Demo Arena.

-1:00 PM Mina Thorgesen: The 2015 OBO Tandem Bicycle Rally; How government and private sector groups worked together to produce a successful new cycling event. Mina is the Director of Sales at the Ridgeland Tourism Commission, Ridgeland, Mississippi.
-2:00 PM Chuck Smith: Ohio’s House Bill 154 and how Cycling Advocacy helped move Ohio’s HB 154 from a dream to reality, with businesses and enthusiasts working together. Chuck is the Chair of the Ohio Bicycle Federation.
-3:00 PM Jay Townley: Introducing the BBJ Profit Center, a new email business newsletter designed specifically for independent bike shops. Jay is a partner with the Gluskin Townley Group.

-1:00 PM Chuck Smith: Ohio’s House Bill 154 and how Cycling Advocacy helped move Ohio’s HB 154 from a dream to reality, with businesses and enthusiasts working together. Chuck is the Chair of the Ohio Bicycle Federation.
-2:00 PM Erik & Penny Janse: How Surly Saved our Cycle tour. Six months into a post-retirement world tour, Eric had to admit he needed a ‘real’ touring bike, with a Surly Ogre to the rescue! Erik & Penny are pedaling their way to the show during their open-ended bicycle tour of the world.
-3:00 PM Janet Buchalter: One More Mountain — A Woman’s Cross-Continent Trike Touring Adventure. Janet is the author of One More Mountain, and a bit of a ‘cycle touring expert. 4:00 PM Diane Lees: If the frame fits — Ensuring a proper fit for your new bike.
