ASSOS of Switzerland is set to be a new co-partner and supplier of the Tour de Suisse. It will be designing the jerseys and will supply both the leader’s jersey and the special awards jerseys. The contract is to run for three years (2015-2017).
Through its commitment to the Tour de Suisse, ASSOS demonstrates its deep attachment to Switzerland, cycling and the world’s fourth-largest stage race. At the heart of the agreement is the leader’s jersey, which will be a new design created by ASSOS. The jerseys for the three other special awards will also be provided by ASSOS. The General Director of the Tour de Suisse, Olivier Senn, is delighted that these two tradition-rich brands will be standing side by side:
“ASSOS products – just like the Tour de Suisse – have always led the way in the world of cycling and are absolutely top-class in terms of quality and innovation. So I am really looking forward to working with this long-established, successful Swiss company.”
ASSOS will be represented both visually on the leader’s jersey and in the finish zone of the stage locations with its comprehensive range of products. Company founder Toni Maier-Moussa is acknowledged as the inventor of Lycra cycling shorts, with which he took the world of cycling by storm some 35 years ago. Research and product development are still based in the Ticino town of San Pietro di Stabio, where the company’s many years of expertise are channelled into creating high-function clothing systems.
