Marc Pro Electrical Muscle Stimulation

The Marc Pro is intended for muscle conditioning by stimulating muscle in order to improve or facilitate muscle performance. The Marc Pro is not intended to be used for therapy or treatment of medical diseases or medical conditions.

Recover Faster…

  • Reduce muscle fatigue or soreness
  • Get back to training or playing sooner
  • Train or play more often
  • Less likely to quit or postpone exercise programs

Recover Fully Without Yesterday’s Fatigue You Will…

  • Maintain proper biomechanics
  • Perform better
  • Lessen the likelihood of injury

Maximize Training Results During resistance exercise you break muscles down; the strengthening and improvement happens afterwards during the recovery/remodeling process.

  • If you improve the recovery process you get more gains from the resistance training that you are already doing

Help Prevent Injury From pro athletes, to recreational athletes to urban athletes (computer work, etc) over-use causes the majority of injuries

  • Over-used is really the same as under-recovered
  • If you can’t or don’t want to do less then you need to recover more to help prevent over-use injury

Improved Conditioning and Performance Using Marc Pro regularly will condition muscles by improving the capacity of your vascular system; without any drugs or side effects…

  • More vessels means your body can deliver more oxygenated blood; therefore, muscles can do more, last longer, and perform better
  •  Targeting specific areas or weak links is extremely easy with Marc Pro
  • Conditioning sessions when exercise is not possible (downtime) can help prevent regression
  • Conditioning makes it easier to begin or complete exercise programs or other desired activities

The basis for post exercise recovery is the normalization of tissue through the movement of nourishment and waste. Marc Pro is specifically designed and excels at this particular task. The Marc Pro muscle conditioning device creates unique, strong, but completely non-fatiguing muscle contractions that set off a cascading series of physiologic events. We call this a Muscle Activated Recovery Cascade, or “MARC™” for short.

The process begins with the activation of Nitric Oxide (NO), which dilates blood vessels and leads to increased flow delivering more oxygenated blood and nutrients to the area. The lymphatic and venous systems also require and benefit from localized muscle activity. Because of this, using the Marc Pro after physical activity helps move the related waste and deoxygenated blood away from the fatigued area(s). This exchange of nourishment and waste, without stress or fatigue, accelerates the recovery of the muscle.

The Marc Pro does more than accelerate the recovery process. When used on a consistent basis, the Marc Pro actually improves overall muscle performance in two ways:

  • First, decreasing the down time between workouts and being more fully recovered for your next workout allows you to accelerate muscle development through a disciplined training program.
  •  Second, when the same Muscle Activated Recovery Cascade (Nitric Oxide, vascular dilatation, more oxygenated blood and nourishment) takes place on a regular basis, the result demonstrated in our research is the development of new blood vessels (capillaries) – a process known as angiogenesis. More capillary blood vessels in a muscle equals more oxygenated blood and related supplies in the muscle and more deoxygenated blood and waste out of the muscle. By increasing the overall throughput of nourishment and waste to and from the muscle through angiogenesis, the muscle has an increased capacity to do more work – it performs better.

published research study showed a 200% increase in limb blood flow after the first application of Marc Pro technology. After a three week period of using Marc Pro five days per week, limb blood flow had increased by 247% upon application. This additional increase or reserve was possible because the consistent use resulted in new additional vessels in the area (angiogenesis) giving more capacity to the region.

Another recent published study concluded that performing the same exercise program with Marc Pro stimulation to the exercised muscles during recovery appears to produce significantly greater gains in muscle strength and significantly greater reductions in feelings of muscle fatigue.

The Marc Pro electronic muscle conditioning device is comfortable and very easy to use. There are two independent channels (A and B) and two self-adhesive electrodes per channel. Each channel can be used on separate muscles or muscle groups. The device should be used while sitting or lying in a relaxed position.

After connecting the device, operation is simple. The intensity dial should be turned up according to the user’s pace and range of comfort. The initial sensation is similar to a heartbeat, but as the intensity is increased the muscle contraction will become stronger. A strong contraction is desirable, and in most cases will be possible since even strong, visible contractions are non-fatiguing to muscles. This is what makes Marc Pro unique and ideal for muscle conditioning.

A typical session with the Marc Pro device should last about 30 minutes. For muscle recovery, sessions can be performed one or two times per day as needed. If increased muscle conditioning and enhanced performance are desired, the device should be consistently used one to two times per day, at least three days per week

There are many EMS products that claim to create “six pack abs” or “explosive strength” while sitting on the couch, but these claims do not match the philosophy or beliefs of Marc Pro and the data given to support these claims is highly questionable. Additionally, those who have tried such methods report that the attempt can be extremely painful. The experts at Marc Pro have more than thirty years in the electrical stimulation industry and our consultant team has been involved in the fitness and strength industry even longer. With all of our combined experience, we have never seen real and/or practical evidence of muscle building while sitting on the couch.

Marc Pro is not designed to build muscle on its own. The fact that we don’t even attempt to do so allowed us to greatly alter our root technology to focus and be more ideal in the movement of nourishment and waste; the keys to recovery and conditioning.

With that said, by decreasing the downtime between workouts training can occur more frequently. By being more fully recovered for your next workout your training can be more effective. And by conditioning with Marc Pro your muscles can do more before breaking down.

All of this allows Marc Pro to significantly increase the benefits of your existing workouts.

recent study indicated that using Marc Pro during recovery enhances the effects of resistance exercise by increasing muscle strength while decreasing the feelings of muscle fatigue.

The Marc Pro is the Next Generation of Muscle Recovery

When we created Marc Pro, we dismissed the outdated, generic electrical stimulation principles set forth in decades-old research studies. We also did not base our product on questionable theories or research on other products.

Instead, we utilized 30 years of medical device experience and research; then worked with athletes, trainers, and researchers to develop the ideal technology to meet our goals. The result was a complete paradigm shift. The unique parameters utilized by the Marc Pro device are based on actual outcomes of real users. In fact, the Marc Pro mechanism of action, as well as the resulting physiologic processes, were recently studied and measured. All of our claims are based on our specific technology which has been tested through blinded, controlled research.

Unique in Its Field

Putting enough electricity through the skin in any form can cause muscles to contract; but how the body responds can vary significantly. The wrong type of current or too much current can be painful or even harmful or dangerous to the body. Some of the most common electrical stimulators on the market are cheap and can interfere with nerve signals, but have no recovery or conditioning benefits whatsoever.

Other muscle stimulators can create strong muscle contractions, but often tetanize (cramp) the muscle at the same time. This can be useful in muscle re-education, but the related fatigue and or discomfort are not suited to recovery. Some conditioning and recovery devices can be beneficial, but their success is often limited by the generic and static technology they employ.

The Marc Pro Dynamic Decaying Waveform

Though many EMS products have developed modern microprocessors to cycle through various frequency and voltage levels, the root technology they employ is quite antiquated. Most employ static square waveforms and relatively high voltages and frequencies to generate enough muscle recruitment. A static square waveform contracts the muscle at full power, holds it at that full power, then instantly and fully releases the muscle. It’s an unnatural signal that can be harsh, and in some cases quite uncomfortable and fatiguing.

By contrast, the Marc Pro device employs a proprietary dynamic decaying waveform. This type of signal comfortably contracts muscles and then slowly releases them over a period of time. Muscle fibers are allowed to properly relax, and fluids are moved in and out of the area without causing fatigue to the muscle.

The dynamic decaying nature of the Marc Pro waveform allows for other parameters to be significantly altered, and includes a pulse duration that is much longer than any other device on the market. During each contraction the signal is in the muscle for a longer period of time, allowing for a different level of recruitment. Fibers which are valuable, yet difficult to contract, can be stimulated. This leads to optimal recruitment for our conditioning and recovery goals, while preventing any discomfort, tetanization or fatigue of the muscle.

Marketing Hype vs. Real Science

Many popular EMS products have no science or research behind them at all. Others reference research studies that are not even based on their particular device. These studies are often 10, 20, or even 30 old.

Some products rely on endorphin theories from the 1970s, while others claim that their technology and advanced programming is based on research about lactate removal and circulation benefits. The latter research is more than a decade old. In fact, recent research actually demonstrates that Lactate is the preferred fuel of muscle as opposed to a negative waste product.

The makers of some EMS devices cite research studies regarding ideal frequencies and circulation benefits. Unfortunately, these studies are outdated and incomplete. They did not account for other parameters such as wave shape, polarity, pulse duration, or voltage. They certainly did not consider the unique, cutting-edge waveform and pulse duration utilized by a modern device like Marc Pro.

No Complicated Programs Needed

Many of the popular EMS products on the market are quite complicated. It’s hard to figure out which program to use, decipher positive and negative wires, decide between different sets of specialized pads, and locate motor points on the muscle. These units also utilize harsh signals and high voltages, making many of the different programs quite impractical or irrelevant. It’s no wonder most people won’t use these devices consistently.

By comparison, Marc Pro is extremely easy and comfortable to use. Marc Pro’s next generation technology is not burdened with difficult setup, complicated programming, or harsh signals. The device utilizes only one size electrode and one setting, and you don’t need to be an electrical or anatomy expert to use it. All of this simplicity is possible because we know what we can do, how to do it, and we do it extremely well. Our customers are able to use their devices easily and comfortably, meaning they will actually see the desired benefits.
