Made from sustainable bamboo, these bikes are the inspiration of Belgium industrial designer Michael Verhaeren. Based on Buckminster Fuller’s geodesic domes, they involve the use of bamboo almost exclusively – as compared to a majority of existing bamboo bicycle frames that are constructed using carbon or organic fibers, reinforced with epoxy. In the case of Verhaeren’s design, his bikes involve the simple use of hardware to assemble the bike.
