The Fenix frameset is a marriage of the Belgian maker’s two most successful carbon frames – the Damocles and the Excalibur.
According the Ridely, the Fennix is aimed at "comfort, stiffness and strength in equal measure".
Using 24T carbon in a diamond-section lay-out, Ridley claims this gives the Fenix excellent stiffness. In addition, by adding extra carbon to the outside edges of the frame, greater resistance to side impacts was also achieved.
The frameset incorporates a 1 1/8" to 1 1/2" head tube, along with with a BB30 bottom brackett.
The seatstays have been are flattened in the central section in order to provide a greater degree of compliance as well. And, the frameset is compatible with both mechanical and electronic groupsets.
The claimed weight for a medium frame is 1,230g, along with 390g fork.
The Fenix series is available in a number of different build configurations. This particular bike features Shimano’s 6800 groupset.
