World Champion Rui Costa claimed both the final stage and the overall victory in this year’s Tour de Suisse today.
The Portuguese rider attacked amongst a large group of riders during one of today’s climbs – mid stage in the race.
From there, Costa went on to distance himself enough from race leader Tony Martin, during the final 3 kilometers, while the German rider put in a valiant effort to try and close the gap during the 20 kilometer climb to Saas-Fee.
Meanwhile, Bauke Mollema (Belkin) and Matthias Frank (IAM Cycling) finished second and third, along with spots on the podium as well.
Frank finished second overall at 33 seconds behind Costa, while Mollema finished third at 50 seconds back.
Martin finished fourth overall at 1:13 behind.
