Basso has unveiled its latest Sempre Veloce road bike (codeword SV), combining the virtues of its Diamante and Diamante SV models to offer enthusiasts and professionals alike a one-bike solution for tackling the tarmac.
Made entirely in the Madre Patria, in addition to its new silhouette that features a reshaped junction in and around the fork crown and downtube, as well as revised geometry that sees a taller stack height without the need for additional spacers or an increase in standover height, the SV follows the wider is better trend by providing enough clearance to accommodate tires up to a beefy 35mm.
Elsewhere, the SV is treated to a stiffer bottom bracket that’s a claimed 7.5% over the Diamante SV, while headtube stiffness is also up by 22.5%. Basso also carried over its 3B Clamp seatpost design to ensure the same level of security and compliance as before.
All in, Basso says the SV tips the scales at a svelte 780 grams in size 53cm that’s unpainted without hardware.
The new SV is available in seven frame sizes ranging from 47cm to 61cam, which can be purchased as a frameset only for $5,800, or as a complete bike with a number of build options that span SRAM Red AXS and Shimano Ultegra and Dura Ace Di2 groupsets starting at $8,999.
For customers wishing to make it an Italian Affair, there’s the option for a Campagnolo Super Record S Wireless Gruppo that’s shod with Bora WTO 45 wheels for a hefty $13,295.
Oh, and Basso was keen to up the styling quotient for the SV as well, offering some dazzling new colorways à la Pure Black, White Burano, Viola Galaxy and Rosso Vivo.
