Now in its 5th generation, BMC has lifted the curtains on its newest Teammachine SLR 01 road bike, touting a lighter, sleeker design over its predecessor, effectively shaving grams and bolstering responsiveness without sacrificing strength and compliance.
“Introducing the new generation of an iconic bike. Redefining balance has redefined gravity. Lighter, sharper, and faster – engineered to conquer elevation with uncompromised control. For over a decade, the Teammachine SLR 01 has defined how the world climbs. Now, the latest Teammachine SLR 01 takes that legacy higher, refining every profile and unlocking a new level of responsiveness. This is more than an evolution – it’s the next standard in climbing performance,” says the Swiss brand.
According to BMC, a revised carbon layup process put the new Teammachine SLR 01 on a diet to the tune of a whopping 222 grams, that’s a 16% decrease in weight compared to the out-going Teammachine.
Elsewhere, the Teammachine SLR 01 now has clearance for tires up to 32mm, while BMC’s ICS cockpit continues to keep things nice and tidy.
Regarding geometry, BMC was keen to keep the angle the same, retaining that same race-proven geometry akin to the Teammachine lineage.
The Teammachine SLR 01 is offered as a frameset only for $4,999.99, along with three complete builds, with pricing starting at $8,499.99.
