Brompton Partners with Barbour on Special Edition Bike, Waxed Jackets and Bags

For the second-time, renown folding bike company, Brompton, has partnered with fellow British apparel brand, Barbour, to create a limited edition bike, along with waxed apparel and bags.

The collection comprises Brompton’s C-Line Explore bike, complete with a special colorway called “Amble Sands” that’s inspired by the UK shoreline near South Shields, as well as a matching Brooks Cambium saddle, while the apparel centers around waxed-cotton fabric jackets and cycling bags aimed at urban cyclists seeking sartorial bliss as they navigate the cityscape.

Each bike also comes with gold Brompton and Barbour logos on the frame with its own serial number plate, along with a silver Brompton pump.

“The new collection combines the best of Brompton and Barbour, drawing on a shared heritage in British manufacturing, design and making products with real purpose; the collaboration celebrates everyday journeys, on and off the Brompton folding bike,” says Will Butler-Adams, CEO at Brompton.

The Brompton x Barbour Holdall bag is made from 10oz waxed-cotton fabric with a tartan lining and leather handles, which features a 24-liter capacity that’s fitted with a connector that allows it to fit to Brompton’s easy-connect carrier clip front mount.

For those wanting a smaller bag, the City Bag will hold up to 12 liters, as well as a waxed-cotton laptop sleeve with leather trim and brass hardware. It too fixes to the front of the Brompton.

Additionally, there’s the Brompton x Barbour Zip Pouch with tartan lining that’s designed to fit either to the Brompton’s handlebars or saddle.

The collection is rounded out by a Barbour waxed jacket, complete with vents, a mesh panel lining and 3M reflective material on the rear.

The jacket also has a detachable hood to thwart the cold and wet, while the Quilt Jacket gives way to an olive green outer shell that can be reversed to produce a high-visibility orange exterior with reflective details for added safety.

Lastly, the collection is completed by a series of T-shirts sporting designs from Mr. Slowboy, with illustrations depicting urban cycling.
