CADEX Rolls Out New Max Aero Disc and Aero 4-Spoke WheelSystems

Targeting time trialists and triathletes alike, CADEX has unveiled its latest in high-performance WheelSystems, the CADEX Max Aero Disc and CADEX Aero 4-Spoke, with the former being a full-disc rear wheel, while the latter is available as both front and rear wheels.

Tested and proven by Team Jayco AlUla WorldTour road racers and triathletes including 2022 Ironman World Champion Gustav Iden, the Max Aero Disc is the lightest disc wheel ever from CADEX at just 1000g thanks to an integrated design that combines superlight, stiff carbon spokes, hubs and rims, as well as an ultra-thin aero cover made with a 1K carbon fiber weave.

“The result is unmatched power and control whether you’re hammering windy flats, charging up climbs, or accelerating through tricky corners on technical courses,” boasts CADEX.

Compared to the previous generation CADEX Aero Disc, the Max Aero Disc delivers 54.3% greater lateral stiffness and a 20.2% boost in transmission stiffness. In addition, the integrated spoke and hub construction reduces lateral flex and distributes the load more evenly for better structural integrity, all at a significantly lighter weight, while a wider 22.4mm inner rim width with a hookless bead and asymmetric rim profile further enhances control and delivers a balanced ride feel.

The CADEX Aero 4-Spoke WheelSystem features 50mm front and 65mm rear rim depths to deliver a perfect balance of aero efficiency and control with lower side force drag in crosswinds courtesy of superlight and stiff 1K carbon weave rims that were shaped by exhaustive wind-tunnel testing and data, while the CADEX Low Friction R3-C40 aero rear hub and ceramic bearings combine for unrivaled power transfer and efficiency.

Team Jayco AlUla rider Luke Plapp tested and raced on the new wheels during the 2024 season. The two-time Australian elite men’s national time trial champion said he felt a noticeable improvement over the previous generation wheels, noting their more dynamic ride feel and added control for cornering and descending.

“These new CADEX wheels are amazing,” Plapp said. “I tested them and then rode them at the Olympics and could immediately feel that they are lighter and a lot more responsive. It’s a massive step up, and I can also tell that the relationship between the wheels and tires seems to be really well thought out.”

Both the CADEX Max Aero Disc and Aero 4-Spoke WheelSystems are available now in select markets worldwide. You can learn more about the wheels at cadex-cycling.com/aero-wheelsystems.
