Campagnolo has launched its latest gravel-specific wheelset called the Levante, featuring a 30mm rim profile, along with the vaunted Italian brand’s Mini-Hook system that’s designed to ensure a secure tire hold at low-pressure.
The new wheelset is also fitted with Campagnolo’s cup and cone hub system with external nipples for ease of servicing, as well as the company’s Hand Made Ultra-Light Carbon (H.U.L.C) technology, which allows engineers to optimize the carbon fabrication process to exact the perfect blend of strength, stiffness and weight.
“Stiff for climbing, light for handling and compliant for descending. This translates into a confidence-inspiring ride feel without undue harshness and an overall wheelset weight of just 1485g with no compromise on strength,” boasts Campagnolo.
Additionally, the Levante also makes use of Campagnolo’s Luxury (C-LUX) finish and laser-etched graphics as found on their Bora Ultra WTO wheelset, which doesn’t require lacquer, thus saving more weight while also ensuring the safest possible seating of tubeless tires.
Other notable features include straight-pull spokes that are laced in a regular spoke pattern for ease of replacement, while Campagnolo’s two-way fit rim profile provides both tubeless and clincher compatibility, along with an internal width of 25mm that can accommodate a wide range of tire sizes from 38mm to 76mm.
Lastly, the Levante also utilizes Campagnolo’s Next 3 Ways (N3W) freehub body, a patented freewheel body that’s engineered to house Campagnolo 11, 12 and 13-speed cassettes. However, the wheelset is also available with a Shimano HG or SRAM XDR freehub body.
The Levante wheelset sells for $1900.
