Campagnolo has rolled out its latest disc braked specific wheelset called the BORA WTO 60 DB, offering aerodynamics in a tubeless ready design that’s you guess it – 60mm deep.
“The BORA WTO DB 60 promises maximum aerodynamic penetration: with a wind angle of between 10° and 20° – a condition which occurs for 80% of the time spent in the saddle – this wheel is unrivaled when it comes to overcoming air resistance,” says Campagnolo.
The BORA WTO 60 DB features an all-new rim profile that’s similar to the rim brake variant, albeit with a slightly narrower 26.1mm external width, along with Campagnolo’s hooked 2-way Fit tubeless C19 bead design that’s optimized for 23, 25 and 28mm tires.
Additionally, the new BORA WTO 60 DB features a UD carbon fiber construction with a UV-resistant resin that eliminates the need for extra finishing, resulting in a claimed weight of 1590g that can withstand riders up to a hefty 265lb/ 120kg, along with 24 straight-pull elliptical aluminum spokes in Campagnolo’s G3 2:1 lacing design and MoMag rim bed for added reinforcement.
The new BORA WTO 60 DB wheels spin on lightweight oversized alloy axles, cups, cones, USB ceramic bearings, machined alloy high-flanges, centerlock (AFS) hubs with a standard rotor interface and 12mm thru-axles.
The wheelset can also be optioned with Shimano HG11 and SRAM XDR hubs.
The new Campagnolo Bora WTO 60 DB wheelset sells for 2160€, with some distribution limited by the current COVID-19 pandemic.
