To show the profound effect mechanical doping can have on performance, here, amateur cyclist Luc Keim races against three-time Tour of Flanders winner Johan Museeuw up the Oude Kwaremont.
In the first race, both riders are on standard road bikes, but for the second head-to-head contest, Keim is given a mechanically doped bike with a hidden motor contained in its bottom bracket.
The results are astonishing to say the least!!
