Canyon has updated its Grizl, which features a more relaxed geometry thanks to a slacker head tube, taller stack height and a longer wheelbase, along with clearance for tires up to a hefty 54mm and Canyon’s new ECLIPS dynamo lighting and charging system that gives the bike far more bikeapacking capabilities than just plain gravel cycling.
However, perhaps the Grizl’s most startling feature is Canyon’s new one-piece radical handlebar called the “Full Mounty”, which features a mini tri-bar style extension that not only provides for a wider range of hand positions, but affords more room for bags, accessories, food etc.
- 69mm of reach
- 114mm of drop
- 14-degrees of flare
- stems in 50, 60 or 70mm
- widths in 42cm and 44cm
Elsewhere, Grizl is treated to front and rear rack mounts, magnetic frame bag mounts, down tube storage space, fender mounts and an extra down tube water bottle mount, as well as frame protection on the underside of the down tube.
Also, the bike also features a user friendly external seatpost clamp and Canyon’s round 27.2mm VCLS seatpost, making emergency replacements or repairs a lot simpler. Also, the brake and gear cables are now mostly internal, while that frame relies on a common PF86 press fit bottom bracket.
Additionally, Canyon has launched a new carbon wheelset to coincide with launch of the Grizl called the GR 30 CF, which utilizes a 30mm hookless rim with a 27mm internal width that spins on DT Swiss 350 spline hubs and Aerocomp spokes.
Pricing for the OG series starts with the CF 6 at 2400€, which comes with a SRAM Apex 1×12 mechanical groupset and alloy DT wheels, followed by the CF 7 that gets a Shimano GRX 1×12 mechanical drivetrain for 2700€.
