Classified and TRP’s new groupset has officially broken cover, offering 1×15 gearing for gravel and 1×16 for road with an enormous 530% of gear range when used in conjunction with a 11-40T cassette, enabling all 24 gearing options you’d find on a standard 2x, 12-speed system.
Equally important, the new groupset comprises TPR’s “QuantumShift’ technology”, which sees Classified’s Powershift hub and TPR’s Vistar rear derailleur controlled wirelessly from a single shifter, resulting in what the partnerships says is “logic gear sequencing and uninterrupted cadence that’s better than traditional 1x and 2x drivetrains.”
“Vistar Powershift marks a true technological breakthrough. With Vistar Powershift, we’ve unlocked 15 or 16 individually sequenced gears that make shifting easier, smarter, and more intuitive. It’s a solution that’s both simpler and more innovative, pushing us ahead in the groupsets offer. This collaboration with TRP reflects our shared vision for innovation to enhance the rider experience and performance,” says Classified’s product manager Sander Laseur.
“With Vistar Powershift, we’re ushering in a new era of shifting: intuitive, wireless, and limitless. Our QuantumShift technology takes the guesswork out of gear changes – riders simply shift up or down, and the system intelligently handles the rest. Full wireless communication keeps the cockpit clean and setup effortless. And with up to 16 unique gear combinations and a 530 per cent range, Vistar is ready for any terrain – gravel, road, and beyond,” adds TRP’s Yannick Mayer.
Previously, the Powershift hub required a dedicated shifter button, which often resulted in a finicking set-up, especially with a drop handlebar. However, this problem is eliminated now that the PowerShift Hub is activated via the TRP shifters.
Elsewhere, the groupset’s rear derailleur has a removable, rechargeable battery, along with TRP’s monoblock steel cassette and chainring options that span TPR’s Aero Crankset (46t to 52t), road crankset (50t and 52t) and gravel crankset (44t to 48t).
The groupset is priced at $2,900, with more details at Classified’s website.
