Classified has announced a new partnership with seven leading brands to offer its Powershift two-speed hubs as an option to buyers. Previously, Classified only offered its hubs as part of complete wheels with its own brand of rims.
According to the Belgian brand’s announcement, it will be working with the European brands DT Swiss, Mavic, and Fast Forward and the U.S. brands ENVE, Reynolds, Boyd Cycling and Spinergy to release Powershift-ready rims.
“There was a big request coming from the industry and riders around the world to make Powershift more accessible. So we are beyond excited to announce that we have partnered with seven leading wheel brands to build bespoke Classified-ready wheels. This broad adoption of Powershift underlines the market’s recognition that our innovative shifting system is well and truly accepted within the cycling ecosystem,” said Mathias Plouvier, the CEO of Classified.
Classified’s Hub Only option will be available through the certified Classified dealer network.
“We want the cycling world to be able to ride Powershift and so we decided to remove all limitations and make our revolutionary shifting technology available to all. With the Hub Only solution cyclists have the option to freely incorporate Powershift into their bike setup” said Plouvier.
The Powershift Hub kit will be sold in an exclusive package containing the shifting system, a smart thru axle, a handlebar module and a cassette of choice. The Powershift hub is compatible with most disc-brake frames. Classified has 11- and 12-speed proprietary one-piece steel cassettes available, ranging from 11-27 to 11-40. The hubs are not compatible with standard cassettes.
In addition to the new partner wheel brands Classified will continue to sell two road and two gravel Classified wheelsets through its worldwide network of certified dealers. Classified said its mountain bike wheels will be available soon.
Classified is based in Antwerp, Belgium, and Eindhoven, Netherlands.
