Colnago’s Special Edition C68 Motoki Yoshio Road Bike Will Win Your Heart While Emptying Your Wallet

Colnago is auctioning a special edition version of its C68 road bike that celebrates Japanese designer Motoki Yoshio, a gorgeous specimen that will surely fill the hearts of most aficionados, while simultaneously emptying their wallets.

Born from the collaboration between Colnago and one of the most appreciated contemporary designers of the cycling industry, Rispetto and Armonia were the project’s keywords. Respect for the tradition and quality of the Colnago C series, and Harmony in highlighting the parts from which the frame is formed.

Motoki Yoshio took the C68 and produced a limited edition finish. At the end of the creative process, two versions of the frame were put forward for selection for the limited edition run, one with a glossy finish and the other with a matte finish, with the shiny finish winning out.

As a result, this left a single matte finish frame without a home. It was originally going to go to a member of the Colnago executive committee, but the plan has changed and it’s now going to be auctioned instead.

The Motoki Yoshio x Colnago Matte comes as a complete bike built that’s equipped with a 12-speed Campagnolo Super Record WRL (wireless) groupset, Bora Ultra WTO 45 wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero Race tires and Colnago’s CC.01 integrated handlebar and stem, as well as a Selle Italia SLR Super Flow saddle with carbon rails.

This lust-worthy C68 road bike is going up for auction at Sotheby’s this week, with the winning bid projected to fetch between $25,000 and $30,000.
