De Marchi and Pinarello Partner on Special Edition Jersey

De Marchi and Pinarello have partnered on a special edition jersey that celebrates the 45th anniversary of Fausto Bertoglio’s Giro d’Italia victory, marking the first Grand Tour title for the Treviso-based framebuilder.

Indeed, it was exactly 45 years ago in May that Bertoglio clinched the maglia rosa, prompting Giovanni Pinarello to ask De Marchi to create a special commemorative blue jersey that harks back to the Italian rider’s 1975 triumph.

According to De Marchi, the special edition jersey is still made from 100% superfine Merino and posses the same details as it did back in the day, albeit with a slimmer, more modern fit. Moreover, the Italian apparel brand says the jerseys are still made on the same old machines that still occupy their factory.

Individually signed and certified for authenticity by Fausto Pinarello, the special edition jersey is limited to just 150 pieces worldwide.

Key features:

  • Same specifications as the 1975 original
  • Fits one size smaller
  • Construction on a vintage 12-gauge warp knitting machine
  • Original Pinarello 1975 blue color
  • Three cargo back pockets with hand-stitched buttons
  • Embroidered Pinarello logos with Cornely-style machines
  • Only 150 pieces made
  • Content: 100% Pure New Merino Superfine wool
  • Care: hand wash in cold water with minimum neutral detergent with like colors; line dry in shade; do not dry clean; do not tumble dry; mild iron (preferably on reverse)
