Deda has launched two new affordable carbon wheelsets for 2023 called the SL4DB and the SL6DB, which feature many of the same internals as the Italian brand’s more costly RS4 wheels that made their debut during this year’s Giro d’Italia.
“The new SL4 and SL6 wheelsets are lighter and better performing wheels thanks to the RS hubs upgrade. Ultimate wheelsets specially developed for high-speed use but simply perfect on any kind of course. The rim features a 45 mm asymmetric design combined to a 26 mm wide section that guarantees lightness and stability. 24 spokes count provide high stiffness at a very low weight level. The wider rim generation provides a better support to the tire and reduces the rolling resistance, increasing at the same time the wheel strength. The rim is built with the tubeless-ready technology to be compatible with clincher and tubeless tires. The RS hubs, here equipped with steel bearings, considerably improves the wheels smoothness and guarantees a better pedal’s force transmitting. Available in POB (Polish on black) finish,” says Deda.
Priced at 1350€, the SL6DB tips the scales at a fairly impressive 1520 grams, with the goal of striking an excellent balance between uphill and downhill pursuits.
For those looking for more of an aerodynamic advantage, albeit with a slight weight penalty of 100 grams, the SL6DB offers a deeper rim profile of 62mm to slice through the wind for 1450€.
Both wheelsets come with tubeless rim tape, tubeless valves, a center-lock lockring and freehub ratchet lubricant.
