DJI has unveiled its latest drone called the Mini 3 Pro, boasting several upgrades over its predecessor such as a vastly improved camera system, longer flight time and tri-directional obstacle avoidance, all in a new design that tips the scales at under 250 grams.
Additionally, the Mini 3 Pro features DJI’s new 1/1.3″ CMOS sensor, a significant upgrade over the Mini 2 and Mini SE, along with the highest video resolution ever seen with a mini drone—up to 4K60. Moreover, the drone’s powerful new sensor supports the direct output of HDR video (at 4K30) and 48MP RAW stills—feats no other drone of its size can provide, while the upgraded camera system also includes a reimagined gimbal that offers a wider rotation range for low-angle shots.
Also, the new gimbal system now allows pilots to quickly switch between portrait and landscape shooting modes, making it great for social media and content creators.
Other features that highlight the Mini 3 Pro include subject-tracking, DJI’s flagship-level 3 video transmission system and an increased flight time of 34 minutes on a single charge. There’s also an “Intelligent Flight Battery Plus,” which allows for an extended flight time of 47 minutes, while hover time for the battery options have been increased to 30 and 40 minutes, respectively.
In addition to the drone, DJI has also launched a new remote controller dubbed the DJI RC, a much lighter and stripped-down version of the RC Pro, which features a bright 700 nit 5.5-inch built-in screen that eliminates the need for a phone.
Customers can pre-order the Mini 3 Pro for $669, while adding the standard RC-N1 controller will set them back $759. For those wanting the new screen-equipped DJI controller, the price bumps to $909.
Accessory kits are also available, which include:
