Named after the famous Col de Roches, Edco has launched a new affordable wheeslet for 2016 called the Optima Roches, which offers both disc brake and tubeless tire compatibility.
According to Edco, the new aluminum Optima Roches are an affordable way for enthusiasts to make their first wheel upgrade, giving them both disc brake compatibility, as well as the option of using tubeless tire technology – especially for those targeting a prosperous cyclocross season or hoping to get onboard with the emerging endurance riding segment.
The rim itself is a wide 24mm, which compliments the current trend of running wider tires, and come supplied with a set of 25mm Continental Grand Sport Race tires.
Additionally, the Optima Roches feature a center locking disc hub, along with Edco’s own disc adaptor which can be used with six bolt rotors. Furthermore, the Swiss brand’s Multi-Cassette System, is compatible with all Campagnolo, Shimano and SRAM 10 and 11 speed cassettes.
Like all Edco hubs, the Optima Roches’ SuperG anodized disc hubs are handmade in Switzerland, and come with a lengthy 8-year warranty, along with the company’s comprehensive crash replacement policy.
