Eddy Merckx’s 1975 Tour de France Molteni Team Bike Comes Up for Sale

The title of this article should actually read in the past-tense, as Eddy Merckx’s 1975 Tour de France bike was no sooner put up sale, that it sold.

Last week, the UK-based, Steel-Vintage.com, was offering Eddy Merckx’s very own, De Rosa built Molteni team bike that the Cannibal himself rode during 1975 Tour de France.

And, judging by the photos, the bike appeared to be in its original, unrestored condition, save for maybe some new bar tape over the decades.

The bike sold to an unknown buyer, for an undisclosed amount of money.

But, rest assured, the lucky new owner is most certainly ogling his or her new relic.
