Elite has launched the latest addition to its range of indoor trainers called the DIRETO XR, touting improved accuracy and “ultra -realistic” simulation thanks to the Italian company’s integrated OTS power meter.
According to Elite, accuracy is within +/-1.5%, while the improved flywheel can now replicate gradients up to a staggering 24%. The DIRETO XR also comes with a pre-installed Shimano 11-speed cassette, along with folding, snap-action legs for easy transport and set-up.
“The DIRETO XR is the world’s only home trainer, together with Elite’s Direto and Drivo range, that truly measures power output via an integrated power meter, the OTS (Optical Torque Sensor). OTS is an innovative and integrated power meter that measures how much power you exercise on pedals with ± 1.5% accuracy on the DIRETO XR, which is 0.5% more accurate than the original DIRETO,” says Elite.
The DIRETO XR is compatible with both road and mountain bikes, with 130-135 x 5mm hubs with quick clamping system and 142 x 12mm with thru-axle.
Adapters are also available to ensure compatibility with 135 x 10-12mm and for rear 148 x 12mm Boost hubs. And, thanks to a newly designed chain guard, the trainer can also accommodate long cage derailleurs associated with 12-speed groupsets.
Additionally, the DIRETO XR also features ANT+TM FE-C and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing it to sync with most apps, software, computers and devices (smartphones and tablets) with iOS, Android, MacOS and Windows operating systems, as well as third-party training platforms such as TrainerRoad, Rouvy, Kinomap, Bikevo and many more.
“Anywhere, anytime, with just a few clicks, you just set the course of the workout program and start pedaling: DIRETO XR handles the rest, by automatically adjusting resistance to manage your workout autonomously based on your needs. Included in the box of the DIRETO XR is a 12-month free subscription to Elite’s My E-Training software and thanks to the cooperation between Elite and Zwift, anyone purchasing a DIRETO XR will get a free 1-month subscription to Zwift,” adds Elite.
