ENVE Introduces New SES Road Tire Collection

ENVE has expanded its SES range of aerodynamic optimized products with the introduction of a new collection of tubeless-ready road tires that are  designed to meet the needs of both professional and avid cyclists alike.

According to ENVE, its SES products come with a “real-world fast”, suggesting that there’s more to performance than just aerodynamic efficiency, promising hard-wearing reliability, low rolling-resistance, puncture resistance, user-friendly tubeless and lightweight in the case of the the new SES road tires.

“Fundamental to our success at ENVE has been developing rim shapes that work optimally with the best tires on the market. That has led to constant evolution in rim shape over the last 10 years, some of which is driven by rider feedback, and the rest by our recognition that it is possible to partially control tire shape through internal rim shape. Whilst we were driven to make our rims as stable and aerodynamically efficient as possible with other manufacturer’s tires, there was always that thought that it would be better if we could have complete control over the tire and rim,” commented aerodynamicist, Simon Smart.

“With the release of our SES Road Tires, our SES wheel customers can now achieve additive aerodynamic gains and real-world performance by simply upgrading their tires,” stated ENVE’s VP of Product, Jake Pantone.

“ENVE has advanced road-tubeless rim design with the inclusion of the hookless-bead which allows us to consistently achieve the critical bead-seat dimensions required for reliable tubeless setups. However, the path hasn’t been without its hurdles as some tire manufacturers have been behind the curve at which road-tubeless rim technology has advanced. So, aside from the on-road performance our new tires deliver, the SES Road Tires are constructed to guarantee a robust sealing interface and compatibility with our hooked and hookless rim designs alike,” Pantone continued.

Above and beyond aerodynamics, ENVE says its new SES road tires deliver competitively efficient rolling-resistance, low-weight and leading puncture protection through the use of a performance-oriented casing construction that includes Vectran as the primary means of puncture protection.

SES road tires are made for “everyday race performance”, which are available in four sizes, 700x 25c, 27c, 29c, and 31c, to ensure there’s a tire for each ENVE customer’s wheelset and more importantly riding style.

“Given that our SES wheel range features rims with internal widths of 19mm, 21mm, 23mm and 25mm, the tire’s packaging clearly communicates how each tire will measure at operating pressure when it is paired with each internal rim width option,” explains ENVE.

The 25c and 29c SES road tires are available at ENVE Ride Centers and retail partners worldwide for $75.00.

The SES27c and SES 31c tires are slated for delivery in early Q4 2020.
