Ergon is targeting the gravel segment with a new collection of cockpit components that include the CF Allroad Pro Carbon Leaf-Spring seatpost, SR Allroad Core saddle and BT bar tape that are aimed at increasing comfort by reducing unwanted feedback from the terrain.
Gravel grinders will be keen to point out, that the CF Allroad Pro Carbon Leaf-Spring Seatpost first broke cover as VCLS (Vertical Comfort Lateral Stiffness) post, which came spec’d on Canyon bikes.
The seatpost features a unique carbon leaf spring design that offers a lightweight solution for compliance versus other suspension designs that tend to be bulky or heavy. It also offers an extended range of saddle fore-and-aft adjustment thanks to its reversible FlipHead clamp.
Weighing in at a respectable 220 grams, the 27.2mm CF Allroad Pro Carbon Leaf-Spring seatpost is available in zero or 25mm setback options for $249.95. In addition, there are two FlipHead inserts available in order to accommodate round or oval saddle rails.
Designed specifically for gravel cycling, the SR Allroad Core saddle was originally launched in 2021, comprising an elastomer core construction that’s sandwiched between the outer padding and inner shell for prime comfort on the harshest of terrain.
There are two saddles in the range, the SR Allroad Core Comp Men that features a nylon shell with CroMo rails, and the SR Allroad Core Pro Men that’s equipped with a carbon shell and TiNox rails.
Rounding out the collection is Ergon’s new BT bar tape that can be wrapped in either direction, while textured markings on the surface of the tape can be used as a guide for an even wrap.
Additionally, Ergon offers under-tape pads that can be mounted to both the “tops” and/or the “drops” of the handlebar to further bolster comfort.
For those who choose to use a tri-bar set-up, Ergon offers the CRT Arm Pads, which feature an anti-slip surface and ventilation channels that are designed to increase comfort during long-distance rides or races.
There are two versions available, one for the Profile Design Ergo arm rests and one for the Race series that retail for $29.95.
