Factor Bikes Dazzles with Revised Twin Vane Evo ONE Road Bike

A twin downtube design is something we hadn’t seen the likes of since the days of the old Colnago Titanio Bititan frameset.

However, a few years back, Factor Bikes incorporated a similar twin downtube configuration into the design of its groundbreaking ONE carbon road bike.

As of this week, the British brand has unveiled a revised version of the ONE, which retains the same split downtube design they call their Twin Vane Evo technology, and added new tube profiles and shapes to the main triangle and seatstays, along with new features such as direct-mount brakes and fully integrated cable routing.

The ONE also gets what Factor calls its ONE Total Integration System (OTIS), wherein the frontend of the bike features a new Wide Stance fork and steerer that also includes an integrated aero handlebar and stem combination. Moreover, the OTI makes use of an external hinge rather than a traditional fork steerer, which simply passes through the headtube sans a headset, spacers or expander plug.

Additionally, the Wide Stance fork comprises a new bladed profile, which encourages better airflow, along with an increase in overall frontend stiffness.

Factor claims this improves stability during sprinting and out of the saddle acceleration, along with more precise handling. Also, handlebar stack adjustment and internal cable routing benefit vastly from this design as well.

The stern of the ONE now features lowered seatstays, which are treated to the same wind cheating profile as the Wide Stance fork in order to further optimize the bike’s aerodynamic properties and allow for the use of wider tires.

Lastly, the ONE is equipped with a proprietary aero seatpost that’s available with either zero or 25mm setback.

The ONE is available as a frameset only for $5,499.99, or as a complete bike with a number of build options.

BEYOND AERODYNAMICS

The new Factor ONE goes beyond aerodynamics to be the fastest aero road bike ever, not on paper or in the wind tunnel, but on the road. With the Twin Vane Evo downtube at its core, the new ONE has been designed for aerodynamic efficiency and maximum frame stiffness. Leading the peloton against the headwind, an all-out criterium or at a fast paceline through the rolling countryside, the new ONE is sure to deliver an exhilarating, fast ride.

Profiting from all the aerodynamic work to design the Factor SLiCK (time-trial/triathlon machine), Factor’s R&D team has translated that tube-shaping knowledge to road bike platform. Using the AG2R Pro-Tour approved geometry from the O2, the new ONE comes loaded with unique features.

Features:

  • Twin Vane Evo downtube
  • OTIS external steerer fork with wide stance legs
  • OTIS Evo aero barstem
  • All-internal cable routing
  • Wide stance airfoil seatstays
  • Clearance up to 28mm tyres
  • Electronic drivetrain only
  • Rim and Disc brake versions
  • 7 frame sizes
