FFWD Rolls Out New Affordable Gravel Specific TYRO Wheelset

Access to premium, gravel specific wheels just became more affordable thanks to FFWD’s new TYRO wheelset.

Indeed, not only does the price-point of €999 put the new TYRO within the grasp of most enthusiasts, the wheelset also capitalizes on FFWD’s DARC carbon fiber rim technology, relying on a 45mm profile, tubeless ready design that provides enough width ( 19mm internal and 27mm external) to accommodate tires up to 40mm.

“The TYRO is for the cycling enthusiast who knows what difference good wheels can make and goes for quality. Are you looking for the ultimate balance of both price and quality? Do you want that one carbon set that can be used at all times on all terrains? The TYRO is what you are looking for. It is not only suitable for the road but with the possibility to fit tires up to 40mm the TYRO is also suitable for gravel use,” says FFWD.

Other features that highlight the new TYRO wheelset are 12 x 100 and 12 x 142mm thru-axle end caps, FFWD’s Ratchet disc brake hubs that are compatible with virtually every free hub but Shimano’s Microspline, 24 straight pull DT Swiss Competition spokes front and rear, along DT Swiss Pro Lock brass nipples, while pair also includes pre-installed tape, tubeless valves and a stylish padded wheel bag.

“The TYRO offers the best price, quality and versatility that everybody is looking for. It is the most all-round wheel set which has all technical standards. Tubeless ready rims only suitable for disc brakes and high quality FFWD hubs with ratchet system internals. The wheels are built according the same wheel building quality FFWD is known for. As with all FFWD wheels the TYRO also comes with accessories included in the nice protective wheelbag,” adds FFWD.

According to FFWD, the TYRO wheelset weighs in at a respectable 1695g (795 front/900 rear) and carries a 265 pound (120kg) rider weight limit.
