Fizik Targets Gravel with New Powerstrap Aeroweave X Shoe

Fizik is targeting the gravel segment with the launch of its latest Powerstrap Aeroweave X, offering lightweight construction and copious amounts ventilation in a walkable cycling shoe.

In keeping with its road-going brethren, the gravel variant features the same mesh upper and simple velcro strap closure, as well as as Fizik’s new X1 carbon sole albeit with 2-bolt cleat platform.

“Powerstrap Aeroweave X is the lightest and most breathable off-road racing shoe in our entire range—and the perfect solution for demanding XC tracks or fast gravel races. Leveraging technology originally developed for the pro road peloton, our Aeroweave woven fabric reduces weight while drastically increasing breathability. Additionally, on wet rides in rainy weather, Aeroweave doesn’t absorb water, keeping your feet light to spin fast and dry quickly—ideal for the unpredictable conditions frequently encountered when racing or riding off roads. For reliable support, the Powerstrap acts as an easily adjustable, secure, and crash-proof closure system to provide superior foot containment as well as balanced support throughout the entire pedal stroke,” boasts Fizik.

All in, Fizik says the Powerstrap Aeroweave X tips the scales at 265 grams, an impressive feat for even a road shoe.

The Powerstrap Aeroweave X sells for $350, which is available in sizes that span 36 to 48, with half sizes in 37 to 47.

Regarding color, so far its looks like Fizik is only offering the funky Pink and Orange colorway. But, surely one can expect to see at least white become an option.
