Fizik has expanded its range of Vento road shoes to include the new Omna Wide, offering enthusiasts a premium set of kicks at a not-so-premium price – especially for those with wider feet.
“With the Omna Wide, we set out to create an advanced road shoe with performance that recalls our top-tier products. Whether you’re training for your first race or facing epic climbs, this shoe has the right features for your ride. Omna Wide is well-ventilated with a PU upper that makes the shoe both lightweight and comfortable,” says Fizik.
“Designed with a performance fit for riders with wider feet, the Omna Wide provides a higher volume fit with more room at the forefoot around the ball of the foot and metatarsals,” adds the Italian brand.
Elsewhere, the Omna Wide features a closure system that’s similar to Fizik’s top-tier Infinito road shoe, comprising a single BOA Li2 dial and lace guides that are designed to balance tension and eliminate “hot spots”, consistently pulling the eyelets inward across the shoe’s upper in all directions to ensure optimal support and comfort.
Additionally, Fizik’s newly redesigned R5 nylon outsole is aimed at increasing comfort along with the requisite amount of stiffness, while the position of the cleat has been moved slightly back in order to optimize pedaling efficiency and reduce knee compression. Ventilation is also a key component of the Omna Wide, which is treated to copious perforations along the upper, as well as a generous vent inlet at the front of the sole.
Available in white only, Fizik says the $170 Omna Wide tips the scales at an impressive 240 grams, which is offered in sizes ranging from 36 to 47 (half sizes in 37 to 47).
