Fulcrum Cheats the Wind with New Wind 75 DB Wheelset

Fulcrum has launched a new tubeless wheelset called the Wind 75 DB, not surprisingly, with the goal of cheating the wind.

According to Fulcrum, the new wheelset tops-off the Wind range by offering time trialists and triathletes alike, a deep section wheel that’s aimed at reducing the rider’s aerodynamic signature at a more affordable price compared to the Italian brand’s more expensive Speed series.

With a wheelset as deep as 75mm, Fulcrum says they spent considerable time minimizing the effects of cross-wind interference, relying on extensive wind-tunnel testing to bring stability to the Wind 75 DB’s deep profile.

At 1820g, the Wind 75 DB won’t win any plaudits from the weight weenies faction, but no 75mm two-way fit wheelset would. However, enthusiasts will nonetheless find pleasure in its mix of UD and 3K carbon construction, centerlock/AFS brake mounting, 12mm thru-axles and a choice between a Shimano 11-speed, SRAM XDR or Campagnolo N3W freehub body with 10°, 36 tooth engagement.

Other features include straight-pull alloy hubs with sealed cartridge bearings and 24 round, double-butted alloy spokes laced in a 2:1 pattern.

The Fulcrum Wind 75 DB wheelset sells for $1479 with a Shimano freehub, or $1489 with a SRAM XDR, while Campagnolo freehubs are available separately.

For those looking to purchase just the rear wheel, Fulcrum says it’s available separately, However, no price is given.
