Gravel Cycling Hall of Fame Announces 2024 Class of Inductees

The Gravel Cycling Hall of Fame has announced its 2024 inductees. This year’s class includes Jay Petervary, Linda Guerrette, Selene Yeager, and Nick Legan.

Inductees were selected by a group of over 50 electors made up of past Hall of Fame inductees, GCHOF board members, and independent athletes, promoters, industry professionals, and fans of the sport. Inductees were selected based on their exceptional achievements and dedication to gravel cycling, embodying the spirit of adventure, resilience, and camaraderie that defines the burgeoning discipline.

Jay Petervary –– A legend in the gravel and ultra-endurance cycling communities, Jay Petervary is renowned for his awe-inspiring feats of endurance and exploration. With a resume that includes a 2007 victory at the Great Divide Race, as well as countless ultra-distance races and expeditions, Petervary has pushed the boundaries of what’s possible on two wheels, inspiring countless riders around the globe.

Linda Guerrette –– One of the most accomplished visual storytellers in the sport of gravel cycling, Guerrette has used her renowned skills as a photographer to capture some of the most important moments in gravel cycling. Her photos have inspired and helped share the stories of gravel cycling to a wider global audience.

Selene Yeager –– For years, Yeager’s had a wide-ranging impact on the gravel cycling world through her writing, coaching, podcasting, and infectious enthusiasm for the sport. As a prolific author and athlete, Yeager has empowered countless individuals to embrace the gravel lifestyle and unlock their full potential on the bike.

Nick Legan –– With a wealth of experience as a professional mechanic, storyteller, industry professional and athlete, Nick Legan has become a trusted authority in the gravel cycling community. He literally wrote the book, “Gravel Cycling”. Legan’s unbridled passion to include all riders, and significant contribution as an industry professional, have enriched the sport and inspired riders of all levels and backgrounds.

In recognition of their contributions, Jay Petervary, Linda Guerrette, Selene Yeager, and Nick Legan will be officially inducted into the Gravel Cycling Hall of Fame during a ceremony to be held May 29, 2024, in Emporia, Kansas. The induction will coincide with the Hall of Fame Group Ride and After Party, held during the week of Unbound Gravel, a staple event on the gravel cycling calendar since 2006.

Commenting on this year’s inductees, Captain of the Gravel Cycling Hall of Fame, Jason Strohbehn, said each inductee is exceptional in their own unique way.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jay Petervary, Linda Guerrette, Selene Yeager, and Nick Legan into the Gravel Cycling Hall of Fame,” Strohbehn said. “Each of these individuals has made an indelible mark on the sport, inspiring countless riders and embodying the adventurous spirit that defines gravel cycling. Their passion, dedication, and achievements serve as a testament to the transformative power of two wheels. 

“We look forward to celebrating their remarkable contributions and continuing to honor the rich legacy of gravel cycling.”
