We first happened upon Heroïn Bikes sometime during the last year, and just like everyone else who got a “fix” of these exquisite, bespoke masterpieces, we were immediately addicted as well.
Apparently, the organizers behind the popular Haute Route sportive series became equally hooked on the brand also, as they decided to partner with Heroïn to create a special edition bike exclusively for their series.
Indeed, Heroïn announced the creation of its new HR bike today, which was designed specifically to give Haute Route participants a bike that offers a unique blend of “performance, comfort and elegance”.
The new HR borrows heavily from Heroïn’s premier H1 bike, which features the same revolutionary carbon construction and aerodynamic honeycomb texture, but with a more “tuned” approach that increases stiffness and compliance in key areas in order to create the ultimate “climbing” bike.
‘We decided to revisit our H1 model in order to create a unique design for the Haute Route”, explains Heroïn founder Marc Simoncini.
‘Made specifically to excel in the mountains, the rigidity of its bottom bracket combined with the flexibility of the top tube, and aerodynamic benefit of the honeycomb textured carbon make the HR an ideal climbing bike.”
‘The HR was designed specifically for participants in the Haute Route, which is viewed as the Holy Grail of amateur racing.’
The HR comes equipped with a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 groupset, custom carbon rims laced with tune hubs, an integrated carbon bar and stem combination and a Rotor InPower power meter for €11,900
