Isaac and Classified Team-Up on New Meson Aero Road Bike

The Dutch brand Isaac has earned itself the distinction for having the first road bike to adorn Classified’s new 2-speed internal hub Powershift system.

As previous reported, the Classified Powershift system comprises a virtual derailleur that’s incorporated into the hub of the rear wheel, providing the equivalent of 22 gears with just a single front chain ring, enabling shifting to take place in a fraction of a second.

Additionally, this set-up also provides both an aerodynamic and aesthetic advantage, as the system can switch between the virtual chainrings in just 150 milliseconds, even with as much 1000 watts of pedaling force.

‘We’re proud to launch the first road bike equipped with our shifting system together with Isaac,” says Mathias Plouvier, CEO Classified Cycling. “The Isaac Meson X Classified is the impressive result of two Benelux companies working together to develop innovative and high-quality products.”

“We always go a step further, also when it comes to technology. This great collaboration with Classified has resulted in the Isaac Meson being an innovative bike that’s ready for the future,” adds Robert Vrancken, Managing Director Isaac Cycle.

At 1120g for the frame and 480g for the fork, the Meson won’t win any plaudits from the weight weenies crowd. But, one can expect plenty of aero bike features like a robust main triangle that’s mated to slim, dropped seatstays, a hidden clamp with a proprietary seatpost, full internal cable routing, a PressFit BB86 bottom bracket and flat mount hydraulic disc brakes with 12mm thru-axles – with enough clearance to accommodate 28mm plus tires depending on the rim.

Pricing for the Isaac Meson – Classified affair starts at € 4.399, which comes equipped with a Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset.

However, customers will have to wait on pricing and availability regarding Classified’s most recent wheelset and cassette.
