The Gran Fondo National Series (GNFS), the largest series of Gran Fondo events in the USA with a nationwide calendar of 13 events attended by over 8,300 riders, has confirmed the addition of the Jensie Gran Fondo of Marin to its 2018 calendar. Hosted by fan-favourite, former professional cyclist Jens Voigt, the one-day event in Marin, California, will take place on September 29, 2018.
Named one of the Top US Gran Fondos by Gran Fondo Guide, the Jensie Gran Fondo of Marin ‘takes place on Marin County’s world-class roads with gourmet food and expert support’. Offering three routes at Stafford Lake Park in Novato, including the 100-mile ‘Shut Up Legs’, the 70-mile ‘Presidential’ and the “’Breakaway’ at 40 miles, all participants will have the chance to ride with former pro, Jens Voigt.
“I’ve always loved California, especially Marin County,” said Voigt. “What’s better to ride on than these roads? And now I don’t even have to hurt myself in the breakaway anymore. I can’t wait to take to Marin’s best and most scenic roads, fuelled by the yummiest local food, and yell “Shut Up Legs!” all over the county.”
The Gran Fondo National Series GFNS looks set to nearly double the series’ number of events and triple the number of riders in 2018, following a strategic partnership with Haute Route, the ‘most prestigious multi-day event series for amateur cyclists worldwide’. GFNS will continue to work with Haute Route to grow the sport in the United States.
