Jingle Cross is set to return to Iowa City, Iowa, October 9-11, 2020, and this year will feature two gravel events. On Saturday, October 10, there will be a brand new competitive gravel race on some of the most challenging gravel roads in North America. Then on Sunday, a more recreational craft beer and poker gravel ride stopping at several local breweries.

As a non-profit organization, all Jingle Cross events benefit the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. World-renowned for its demanding courses, fun atmosphere, amateur racing and local hospitality, Jingle Cross aims again to be a keystone cycling event in North America.

“Despite everything going on in the world, we are excited about the 2020 edition of Jingle Cross and hope that gives people motivation and something to look forward to,” said Promoter and Race Director John Meehan. This year will be the 17th edition of Jingle Cross, and it’s a testament to the hard work of everyone at Jingle Cross, the volunteers and the people of Iowa City. On Saturday, we’ve added a brand new gravel race, which will be followed by a more recreational craft beer and poker gravel ride on Sunday. Meanwhile, the cyclocross races will be happening concurrently all weekend at the Jingle Cross venue. This includes the Junior Devo Cup. We have three full days of special events for junior racing with awards and jerseys for the top individuals within each category – plus a team competition to determine the best junior’s team in North America.”

Along with the gravel events, two C1s and C2 professional cyclocross races, there will be three full days of amateur races, product expo, local vendors, and activities for the entire family. Highlight activities include Doggy Cross and Grinch’s Kids Race. For adults, there is an International Wine Walk and Oktoberfest.

Additionally, this year Friday Night Lights changes to Friday Night Frights in celebration of the move to October – costumes encouraged. Packed with fun, Jingle Cross delivers three days of action and excitement.

Based in the heart of the Mid-West, Iowa City has embraced Jingle Cross with fans and local businesses coming out to support the event in large numbers.

Away from the race-course, Iowa City provides everything from boutique stores to craft breweries, museums and farm-to-table restaurants. Also, the town prides itself on being bicycle friendly with great riding and beautiful scenery.

Registration for amateur races will open on July 1, 2020.
