Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship (SBTS) recently announced that the Lost and Found Gravel Festival will return on June 4th, 2022, and the new routes circumnavigate the damage caused by the 2021 Dixie Fire. Lost and Found looks to rise from these ashes and create a positive financial impact on the community of Portola in 2022
The ask here is quite simple, help spread the word that registration is open! The SBTS needs our help to raise funds that will impact rural communities and bring tourism dollars to the Lost Sierra. If a web-based placement is not possible, sharing on social would also be a huge lift! Lost and Found is competing with the world series of gravel events (Unbound Gravel) taking place the same weekend.
There is a little something for everyone at this event including a challenging 100-mile course, a 65-mile mid-distance ride, and a 35-mile shorter ride for those just looking to experience the amazing scenery and epic aid stations. Plus delicious food and beverages, two days of live music, and a weekend campout for racers and race volunteers alike. This event checks off all the boxes and supports one of our favorite non-profits.
“This event is an opportunity for folks to raise money and awareness, and to contribute financially and substantially to the success of Connected Communities and our recovery efforts. Come join us and celebrate in what is still one of the most beautiful and remote places on earth,” says SBTS Executive Director Greg Williams.
