Muoverti is targeting time trialists and triathletes alike with the latest addition of its MUOV indoor trainer, allowing riders to train indoors in an aerodynamic position combined with the company’s proprietary tilting mechanism that simulates real life cornering and balancing.
Naturally, the MUOV is also designed to work with numerous virtual cycling programs, allowing riders to actually steer their avatar and navigate through a course.
The Muoverti system uses a dynamic electromagnetic resistance control and “physics engine” to “algorithmically replicate the on-pedal feeling of physical forces” such as rolling resistance, incline, weight, acceleration, braking and inertia. The algorithm is said to update 1,000 times per second, in constant communication with the resistance control, resulting in accurate feedback from digital training and riding platforms (the bike is compatible with all the leading training and racing platforms). Moreover, the system is quiet, wherein the magnetic resistance is connected to the cranks via a carbon belt drive, making for a “virtually silent riding experience, while the MOUV’s software collects the following data points: power, speed, cadence, L/R balance, pedal smoothness, torque effectiveness, lateral force and even seated vs standing readings in real-time.
The MUOV also has a frame swap feature that allows multiple users to swap out the main frame unit in order to get a perfect fit.
“We’re very excited about the new product line-up that place the individualism and performance of athletes at the centre of our products and our communication,” says Christoph Wilfert, MUOV CEO and Co-Founder. “MUOV, pronounced move, stays true to our original company name Muoverti, which means keep on moving in Italian, and helps us build a global sports technology brand,” he adds.
There is no current word on pricing, as the company is still in the process of producing its first production run.
