MyWhoosh Launches World’s First Anti-Doping Program for E-Racing

MyWhoosh has announced the introduction of an anti-doping and integrity testing initiative for virtual racers on its platform. The policy is a first-of-its-kind and is designed to strengthen trust in elite virtual racing and protect clean athletes. It represents a major step in MyWhoosh’s commitment to professional standards.

In collaboration with International Doping Tests & Management (IDTM) – an experienced anti-doping service provider – selected riders will be notified remotely and must remain at their declared location for up to three hours post-event to provide urine, blood, or dried blood spot samples to appointed testing personnel.

The program will become active on May 10, 2026, with the first round of testing scheduled to begin on May 17, 2026. This new layer of oversight is specifically tailored for the unique requirements of virtual cycling, operating under the MyWhoosh Cycling E-sports Rules and Regulations with operational support from world-leading testing providers. MyWhoosh will use the WADA Prohibited List as the reference list for prohibited substances and methods.

Protecting the Integrity of Virtual Racing

MyWhoosh has built its e-sports credibility through a fundamental commitment to building trust and maintaining fairness. MyWhoosh’s current verification system is the most robust in the world, but as prize-money events like the Sunday Race Club (SRC) and MyWhoosh Championship (MWC) continue to grow, MyWhoosh is implementing these anti-doping measures to ensure that competition results reflect genuine performance. The programme establishes a ‘private contractual and sporting integrity framework’ that draws from recognized international standards, including the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List.

“The introduction of anti-doping and integrity testing is about protecting fair competition and rider trust,” said Matt Smithson, Director of Esports & Game Operations at MyWhoosh. “As our Sunday Race Club grows, the standards around fairness must match the seriousness of the event. Our goal is to protect clean riders and ensure that our global community can trust in the integrity of every podium finish”.

The program features several key components to ensure comprehensive coverage:

  • Testing may include urine, dried blood spot (DBS), and venous blood samples collected by trained personnel.
  • Riders may be selected for testing at the discretion of MyWhoosh based on random selection, podium finishes, performance data, or intelligence-led targeting.
  • Notification may occur shortly before, during, or immediately after an event, with samples collected at a rider’s declared location.
  • The program is supported by International Doping Tests & Management (IDTM) to provide independent, professional sample collection and handling.

To maintain transparency, riders are required to provide an accurate declared location during registration to facilitate potential testing appointments. Failure to comply with testing instructions, including refusal, evasion, or tampering, may result in severe sanctions such as disqualification, prize money claw-backs, and suspension from the platform.

This initiative works alongside MyWhoosh’s existing integrity systems, which monitor hardware, software, and performance data verification. By integrating biological testing with technical verification, MyWhoosh continues to lead the industry in providing a fair environment for the world’s best e-sports athletes. As the brand continues to evolve, MyWhoosh is focused on building a transparent ecosystem that prioritizes the integrity of every rider’s effort. By combining robust rule enforcement with a community spirit, MyWhoosh ensures that its world-class virtual environments remain the most trusted destination for athletes to push their limits.
