RIDE TO ADVANCE.
RACE TO INSPIRE.
BREAK AWAY TO CHALLENGE.

A new era for women’s cycling has begun.

SRAM proudly announced today, a new partnership with CANYON Bicycles to form CANYON//SRAM Racing.

The new team will compete as a UCI Women’s WorldTour Team in the first year of the UCI Women’s WorldTour series, wherein the team is set to compete in the Santos Women’s Tour, Amgen Tour of California Women’s Race empowered with SRAM, La Course by Le Tour de France, Giro d’ Italia Internazionale Femminile, and the Aviva Women’s Tour.

According to CANYON//SRAM Racing, the team’s high caliber international roster, represents some of world’s best time trialists, experienced winners and exciting new talents will lead the women’s peloton.

“We’re thrilled to support CANYON//SRAM Racing. SRAM is an ardent advocate for women’s cycling and we’re enthusiastic about competing in the newly minted UCI Women’s WorldTour Series. With the depth of talent found in this team, we’re excited to see how the season unfolds,” said SRAM Road Brand Director Chris Zigmont.

CANYON//SRAM Racing Team Manager Ronny Lauke added: “We do have a strong roster, with the majority consisting of young already proven talents who are willing to learn from the experience of our senior riders. Each of them has shown individually that they can achieve top results, combined with the strength of a team I believe each of them will make another step forward.”

The team will ride Canyon Ultimate CF SLX bikes and SRAM’s wireless eTap drivetrain.

Its nine rider line-up comprises Alena Amialiusik (BLR), Hannah Barnes (GBR), Lisa Brennauer (GER), Elena Cecchini (ITA), Tiffany Cromwell (AUS), Barbara Guarischi (ITA), Mieke Kröger (GER), Alexis Ryan (USA) and Trixi Worrack (GER).

Additionally, Rapha has agreed to a three-year sponsorship, to supply the women’s team with clothing from their Souplesse collection – for both on and off the bike.

“Having SRAM as partner for the project is important to us, since the RED 22 groupset is the lightest on the market. Their SRAM RED eTap groupset is the most advanced technology on the market and gives us a further advantage for our time trial ambitions. Both are very precise and this is what we need to perform well: reliable and advanced products,” Lauke said.

Simon Mottram, Rapha founder and CEO, commented:

“Rapha are devoted racing fans, and partnering with this team underlines our commitment to racing at the highest level, and women’s cycling which is a key focus for Rapha. The world-class riders, team management and cutting-edge partners, will further elevate our product design and performance, and help us develop the finest racing and riding products for women.”

Directeur Sportif Beth Duryea remarked:

“When Ronny and I discussed a clothing partner for our new team, there was instant agreement that we only wanted Rapha. We saw Rapha as our number one choice and this was for many reasons.

“Rapha share our passion and vision for cycling. They communicate this passion for cycling with remarkable stories, images and films and like our women’s team they want people around the globe to understand how amazing this sport is.”
