Zwift has announced the return of the Off the MAAP series, which will be held across the first three weeks in December in collaboration with the Melbourne-born apparel brand MAAP, unlocking a brand new kit for Zwifters who complete the full in-game series.
The first two stages of this three-stage event feature ‘after-party climb routes’ from Zwift’s existing catalog, each offering entrants an opportunity to challenge themselves up a final ascent to a virtual finishing arch.
The third and final stage offers something not seen before on Zwift. True to the series name, Zwifters will finish the stage Off the MAAP, as they complete the all-new ‘Power to the Portal’ route, which culminates in Zwift’s climb portal.
Exiting Zwift’s virtual roads of Watopia, participants will enter Zwift’s climb portal where they will experience the challenge of Old Willunga Hill – one of Australia’s most famous climbs – with the stage concluding on the summit.
Upon completion of the series, Zwifters will also have the opportunity to purchase a limited-edition Off the MAAP collaboration kit, as well as enter a competition to win a trip for two to the Tour Down Under, courtesy of MAAP.
The in-game stages are as follows:
Stage 1 | Volcano Climb After Party, 40.3km, 285m Dates: December 2-8, 2024 Unlock: OTM 24 Kit
Stage 2 | Itza Climb Finish – 30.6km, 293m Dates: December 9-15, 2024 Unlock: OTM 24 Socks
Stage 3 | Power to the Portal, 17.5km, 98m + Old Willunga Hill, 4km, 252m Dates: December 16-22, 2024 Unlock: OTM 24 Cap
In-game training rides for the series will take place between November 28th and December 1st.
Additionally, taking to the real world MAAP ambassadors will be hosting outdoor training rides internationally. These will aim to bring the virtual indoor series to life, and include a kick-off event in Amsterdam with ambassador Freddy Ovett on December 5th. Other events will be held in tandem with MAAP LaB (Life Around Bikes) stores and local dealers.
