Officine Mattio has unveiled its latest road bike called the OM1 S, touting the Italian brand’s first monocoque carbon construction that’s 100% made in Italy.
“The OM1 S is targeted to a young audience, to riders who love neat, refined products, as well as to purists looking for a reliable bike with a gritty look. The OM1 S is our very first monocoque,” says Officine Mattio.
While Officine Mattio has relied on traditional carbon lay-up processes to fabricate its bespoke carbon frames, as mentioned the Cuneo-based brand has shifted to a monocoque construction for the OM1 S, claiming greater power and stability, as well as integration.
“Power, stability and reliability encapsulate what the new OM1 S is all about. It has an integrated handlebar in carbon fibre, designed and manufactured for Officine Mattio for the bike to be as homogeneous as possible starting from the front end. It has an aerodynamic shape, features a special collar connecting the steering column to the headtube, thus making the handlebar- steerer-fork combination streamlined and homogeneous,” boasts Officine Mattio.
Officine Mattio describes the OM1 S’s geometry as being “gritty”, thanks to a new rear triangle, lower chainstays that are now arched at the height of the dropouts and an oversized headset that seats directly into the fork, allowing for full integration of all cables regardless of the brand of groupset.
The OM1 S is available in XS-S-M-L-XL sizes, along with a limitless choice of custom colors and graphics.
Officine Mattio also offers the complete bikes, with groupsets from Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo.
