Pavé Sectors for Paris – Roubaix 2015

Race organizers for Paris – Roubaix, have ranked the pavé sectors in this year’s “Hell of the North” as being highly difficult.

The Aumary Sport Organization’s (ASO) Christian Prudhomme, Jean-François Pescheux and Thierry Gouvenou have assessed the length, unevenness, location and general condition to the route, giving a five-star designation to the Arenberg Forest, Mons-en-Pévèle and Carrefour de l’Arbre, noting that the latter has become more difficult over time.

Riders will face the first pave at the 98.5 kilometer mark, the Troisvilles sector, which as followed by another 26, for a total of 57.5 kilometers of cobbles along the 253 kilometer route.

Govenou says, the Carrefour de l’Arbre has gotten worse over the years, putting it amongst one of the hardest sectors.

“With time, the Carrefour de l’Arbre has got harder and harder. In terms of difficulty, it’ll be right up there with the Arenberg Forest this year. Over the whole sector, I don’t think there’s a single level cobblestone.”
