POC Cheats Gravity with New Elicit Clarity Sunglasses

POC is cheating gravity with its latest Elicit Clarify sunglasses, which tip the scales at an astonishingly light 23 grams.

The weight savings comes courtesy of a single-piece lens that eliminates the need for a bridge, opting only for a minimalist, interchangeable  nosepiece, along with bio-grilamid, polymer temples that attach themselves via trusses.

The lens itself features Clarity technology, which is designed to help control the spectrum of color in order to ensure excellent contrast and definition.

“The Elicit’s are special, and their weight is extraordinary!” is pro rider Mitch Docker, who donned the new glasses during this year’s Paris-Roubaix Classic.

“The lightness means I hardly notice them and they are beautifully balanced. I am a fan of bigger lenses and I have ridden the Elicit’s in almost every weather condition, including my last race, Paris-Roubaix, which was very messy, but they handled it all,” he adds.

The Elicit Clarity sunglasses are available in six color options, Hydrogen White, Uranium Black, Fluorescent Orange, Actinium Pink, Sapphire Purple and Lemon Calcite, along with a choice of lens in Gold, Silver and Define, while a spare clear lens is also included.

Like other POC models, the Elicit Clarity features lens that are given a Ri-Pel coating, a hydrophobic and oleophobic treatment that protects the lens from water, dirt, oil, sweat, salt and dust, as well as UV400 protection rating.

According to POC, the Elicit Clarity will become available in Spring 2022, which will sell for £180 / $250 / €240.
