The women’s cycling apparel up-start, Queen of the Mountains, has turned to crowd-funding as as means of getting their togs off of design table and on the backs of women cyclists.
“Queen of the Mountains is a performance cycling clothing brand, designed by women cyclists for women cyclists,” says founder Alicia Bamford. “We pride ourselves on creating the highest-quality cycling apparel, that is steeped in the beauty and freedom that is at the heart of cycling. Our brand purpose is to empower women to ride.”
According to Queen of the Mountains, their collection was inspired by the epic climb of Mont Ventoux, which consists of a lightweight Race jersey, a relaxed fit Classic Jersey, which both feature three rear pockets, a full zipper and 4-way stretch material with UV protection, along with black bibshorts that are made with Lycra Power fabric, punctuated by a Cytech insert, flat-lock sticking and soft leg grippers – and finished off with a matching embellishment on the lower leg.
In addition, Queen of the Mountains has added a base layer, arm warmers, socks and cycling cap to its range, to the effect of a full ensemble.
