ROUVY has unveiled a wave of new updates to its indoor cycling app, adding interactive segments, pro training camp destinations and more, allowing members to ride the same training routes as WorldTour teams, as well as famous races around the world right from their homes.
New Immersive Segments
“With our app’s biggest update of the season, we’re introducing timed segments, which adds a playful element to the users’ interval sessions or lets them challenge their mates and claim a place on the segment leaderboard. As with riding outdoors, riders will find a selection of pre-defined segments across climbs, rolling road sections and shorter sprints to test themselves on and set a new personal best. Additional motivation comes in the form of avatars representing the segment leader, your friends’ and your own past best efforts,” says ROUVY.
Even More Iconic Routes & Spotlights
The new segments will feature on current routes as well as a range of new roads, including popular training camp destinations and far-flung corners of the world such as European hotspots like Calpe, Andorra and Girona that are inspired by Lidl-Trek and Team Visma | Lease a Bike, providing escapism from the cold and helping build fitness ahead of the coming season. Alternatively, members can choose to explore further afield with routes added from the epic landscapes of Bolivia, Sri Lanka and Tajikistan, which combine to form ROUVY’s latest Great World Adventure Spotlight.
Additionally, ROUVY and Life Time Events have teamed up bring selected segments and targeted workouts from America’s most iconic off-road race series from Sea Otter, Unbound, Big Sugar, Crusher in the Tushar and The Rad Dirt Fest.
Increased Control
ROUVY riders can now personalize their experience even further with redesigned customization within the virtual garage, tailoring both rider and equipment in-app. Once riding, members will also be able to now toggle ERG Mode – automatic resistance adjustment on their trainer to match the target power – on and off when required. This allows for more precision in structured workouts when measuring pace and effort.
“We’re continuing to look to innovate and improve how riders can make the most of each and every ride on ROUVY, whilst increasing the content that riders can experience in the app,” explains Marek-Martin Matyska, Product Director at ROUVY. “With our new segments we’re looking to inspire friendly competition and push performance whilst riding your favorite routes or exploring new destinations.”
“We are on a mission to digitize the cycling world which continues to inspire adventure,” says Antonín Parma Content & Experience Director at ROUVY. “This winter we’re excited that our internal recording crew, and quickly expanding ROUVY Route Creator community, have captured some really unique roads and locations for our riders, which most will never get the chance to experience in person.”
Additional In-App Updates
Following an overhaul of how members can discover new routes with an interactive global map showcasing the thousands of routes, the app also sees a range of new filters added to the route search area, including average and max gradient sliders, and more.
