Santini and race organizer Unipublic have unveiled the official leaders jerseys for 2023 Vuelta a España at the Zarzuela Race Course in Madrid, along with three new kits that celebrate the Spanish Grand Tour.
“The partnership that we have established with La Vuelta is now in its seventh year. This confirms our constant commitment in professional cycling,” commented Monica Santini, CEO of Santini Cycling Wear,”and we celebrate it today by presenting the jerseys to be worn by the champions of the 2023 edition.”
“These jerseys are the hallmark of La Vuelta and they not only represent four classifications but also culture, cities and emblematic climbs around the race” added Javier Guillén, general manager of La Vuelta.
The official jerseys are manufactured entirely in Santini’s factory in Italy, using highly-technical fabrics, consisting of the Red Jersey, sponsored by Carrefour for the leader of the general classification, the Green, with the Škoda logo for the best points classification, the Plenitude-branded White jersey which will go to the best young rider, and the polka dot jersey jersey, sponsored by Loterías y Apuestas del Estado, which will crown the King of the Mountains.
Three kits that Celebrate the Vuelta a España
In addition to the classic leaders jerseys, Santini has created three dedicated kits that highlight keys stages of the Vuelta a España.
The first kit coincides with the opening time trial stage in Barcelona, commemorating the race against the clock with a black, blue and purple kit that gives a nod to the Spanish city’s vibrant personality.
The ascent of Angliru has become legendary climb in recent editions of the Vuelta, which features a 12 kilometer grueling ascent with gradients exceeding 20%, making one of the most demanding climbs in the peloton.
To pay homage, the kit is treated to resplendent shades of green that recognize the forests that characterize the Asturias region. Plus, the kit includes elements of the Cross of Victory, along with alpha and omega symbols placed under horizontal arms that are emblematic of the region.
The finish line in Madrid is celebrated with a kit that features two elements that represent the city, particularly the coats of arms of the Puerta del Sol square.
Replicas of the leaders jerseys and the special edition kits are available for purchase online at www.santinicycling.com, and in selected cycling shops around the world.
