Inspired by the Cote d’Azur city of Nice where the vaunted Paris-Nice race concludes, Santini has unveiled its Paris-Nice capsule collection, regaling the city’s Promenade des Anglais to the signature blue sea that laps its beaches.
This year’s Race to the Sun once again cuts vertically across France, attracting elite riders of the pro peloton who will depart the French capital on March 6th.
To celebrate, Santini has launched a special edition jersey, bibshorts, gilet, base layer and accessories.
“We chose blue to reference the work of Henri Matisse who lived in Nice for over three decades,” says Santini’s Creative Director Fergus Niland. It’s a shade that featured in his “Blue Nude” series of paintings and is now the main colour in the Santini capsule collection.”
The short-sleeve jersey is made from ultralight Silkiss Sahara mesh fabric, the perfect choice for even the hottest days, along with an elastic silicone gripper band on the lower hem to keep it firmly in place, while its sleeve ends have a soft elastic finish.
Santini also suggests popping the color with its coordinated windproof gilet that’s ideal for adding warmth along downhill stretches.
The bibshorts are made from Thunderbike Power fabric, which features Santini’s GITevo pad with a gel core that’s designed to absorb impacts for optimal comfort – even on longest of rides.
Featuring a vibrant pattern inspired by a bird’s eye view of Nice’s bright yellow beach umbrellas, the sleeveless base layer jersey is made from ultralight micromesh.
The collection is further highlighted with a coordinating cap, gloves and socks.
The capsule collection marks the latest addition to Santini’s on-going partnership with A.S.O., organizers of the Paris-Nice and the Tour de France.
The collection is available from www.santinicycling.com, as well as from select Santini dealers worldwide.
